Due to forces beyond the club’s control, we must regrettably cancel the 2021 Lincolnton Optimist youth basketball season. 

We would like to thank you for committing to participate this season and placing your trust in the Lincolnton Optimist Club to safely provide a sports outlet for your children.

Ultimately, we were forced to this decision after months of coordination and planning, due to the fact that we are unable to use the Lincoln County School facilities in time to meet our season deadlines. The Board of Education recently voted to extend the external facility usage moratorium until December 18th and unfortunately there are no other facilities with adjustable goals available in our area to use.

As a non-profit organization, the Lincolnton Optimist Club (LOC) relies on the ability to use local school facilities such as gymnasiums for weeknight practices and Saturday games; we do not own our own facilities. Therefore, we are at the mercy of Lincoln County Schools and the Board of Education regarding external facilities usage each year. 

Refunds

We are working with our website vendor to begin issuing refunds for registration fees this week. The registration fee refunds of $60 per player, plus any donations, will be refunded in the form of a Visa virtual gift card. You will receive the refund from Sports Connect to the email that we have on file. Unfortunately, the $3 transaction fee for your registrations are non-refundable but the LOC will send a coupon code during next year’s registration period towards 2022 basketball season for $3.

We will begin processing refunds as soon as possible and planning for the 2022 Lincolnton Optimist Club basketball season!
